Feel Grounded: What This Workshop Taught Me About Self-Doubt, Nerves and Coming Back to Myself

Last Sunday, I ran my Feel Grounded workshop at No.4 on the High Street in Hatfield.

It was such a special morning.

We cleansed our energy, journalled, explored the Root Chakra, planted succulents and worked with Red Jasper to set intentions.

There was something so lovely about watching everyone slow down, tune in and give themselves permission to listen to what they actually needed in that moment.

But the week leading up to the workshop looked very different.

The week before

I had a real battle with myself.

Self-doubt crept in.

Nerves got louder.

Old energy resurfaced.

I started questioning whether I was doing the right thing, whether people would connect with the workshop and whether I was good enough to lead it.

That familiar urge to pull back started showing up.

And I think this is one of the things we don’t talk about enough.

Doing the inner work doesn’t mean difficult thoughts disappear forever.

It doesn’t mean you never feel nervous again.

It doesn’t mean self-sabotage, fear or old patterns never resurface.

Sometimes they still do.

The difference is that you start to recognise them sooner.

Self-sabotage can be quiet

For me, self-sabotage doesn’t always look dramatic.

Sometimes it looks like overthinking.

Procrastinating.

Second-guessing.

Comparing.

Convincing myself something won’t work before I’ve even given it the chance to.

Sometimes it is simply that little voice saying:

Maybe don’t do this.
Maybe play it safe.
Maybe wait until you feel more confident.

But if I waited until I felt completely fearless, I’d probably never do half the things I now love doing.

So instead of trying to get rid of the nerves, I worked with them.

I had to use the tools myself

I journalled.

I slowed my breathing.

I got outside.

I grounded myself.

I stepped away from the noise.

And I asked myself a question I use a lot in my workshops:

What do I need right now?

Not what should I be doing.

Not what would someone else do.

Not what would make me look like I had it all together.

What did I need?

That question helped me come back to myself.

Grounding is not about never wobbling

Sunday reminded me of something I think is really important.

Grounding isn’t about becoming someone who never gets unsettled.

It is about learning how to find your way back when you do.

That’s what I want these workshops to give people.

Not another thing to be good at.

Not another version of self-development that makes you feel like you have to become a different person.

Just tools.

Simple practices.

Moments of calm.

A little space to hear yourself again.

Because difficult weeks still happen.

Self-doubt still happens.

Stress still happens.

But we can build ways to support ourselves through them.

What happened in the workshop

During Feel Grounded, we explored the Root Chakra and what it means to feel safe, supported and connected.

We cleansed our energy.

We journalled.

We planted succulents.

We worked with Red Jasper.

We set intentions.

And we gave ourselves time to slow down.

One of the most beautiful parts for me was seeing everyone tap into their own intuition.

Not looking outside themselves for the answer.

Not asking what they should be doing.

Just taking a moment to notice what their own body, energy and inner voice were telling them.

That was powerful.

And it also reminded me that I had spent the whole week learning the same lesson.

Coming back to yourself

I still get nervous.

I still experience self-doubt.

I still have moments where old patterns try to pull me backwards.

But now I know those feelings don’t have to make the decision.

I can pause.

I can notice.

I can reset.

I can come back to myself.

And for me, that is what growth looks like.

Not perfection.

Not never wobbling again.

Just knowing you have tools to help you find your footing.

If you missed Feel Grounded

Feel Grounded is running again on Friday 2nd October, 6:30–8pm at Soul Sisters in Rossington.

And in October we move into the next chapter of Freedom Through Energy with Follow Your Joy on Sunday 18th October, 10:30am–12pm at No.4 on the High Street, Hatfield.

For this session, we’ll be exploring the Sacral Chakra, working with Carnelian and reconnecting with creativity, pleasure, feminine energy and the things that make us feel alive.

From feeling grounded…

to following your joy. 🌿🧡
